2011 HAMMERHEAD STRONG: A Message from the Coach

Hello Herndon!

This will be my third season as head coach, and it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Hammerhead family! One of the things I appreciate about coaching is getting to share my passion for the sport of swimming with the youth of our town. I am very excited to see all my returning swimmers and meet any new additions to our team. Summer is almost here and we have a lot to look forward to.

My focus for this season is to have fun, demonstrate sportsmanship, and learn proper swimming technique. If we all work together and support each other, we will have no problem making these things a reality.

At the beginning of each season is a great time to set goals. Goals should be reasonable to each swimmers abilities and at the same time encourage them to step outside of their comfort zone. Each swimmer on our team is unique and has different things that they want to accomplish. My job is to make sure that they succeed and help them to see that they are capable of achieving beyond their expectations. So lets get in the water and get to work, and eventually all our hard work will pay off!
